The art of hugging in seven steps: 1- Recognize the existence and presence of each other, (you and the Earth, a friend, loved one, family member, anyone, anything) 2- Open your arms and begin hugging. 3- Hug for the next 3 breaths. 4- On the first breath, be conscious that you are in the present moment, feeling at peace and joy. 5- On the second breath, be conscious of the other's presence and their feelings of peace and joy. 6- On the third breath, be conscious that we’re here together, at this moment, on this earth, feeling thankfulness, and happiness for our unity and togetherness. 7- Now you can release from the hug and offer thanks. When we perform conscious hugging, with mindfulness and good intentions the hugged subject become real, alive and energized. The world with more good huggs. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages, the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our wit nor our courage, neither our wisdom nor our learning, neither our passion nor our devotion to our country. It measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile. And it can tell us everything about America - except why we are proud that we are Americans. |
